Incommunicado

21 days and counting.

I changed addresses at the beginning of the month from my nice, comfy basement apartment into shared accommodations. My landlady has high-speed Internet - a definite step up from the dialup access I have been using for years - and a wireless router. Which, unfortunately, I have not been able to connect to lo these three weeks. It appears that my desktop PC was designed with maximum incompatibility in mind.

Meanwhile, for the same three weeks my Apple iBook has been in the shop thanks to the ubiquitous logic board defect, so I can't take advantage of either its modem or AirPort card.

The upshot of all this is that I remain limited to a few minutes per day, primarily to check my email, thanks to limited access on the inferior terminals at the nearby public library.

All I can say is, it's a good thing God gave me the patience of Job . . .
